Hey Lynn,
Thanks for sharing. It is tough to make the empty nest transition but it sounds like you have it pretty well planned out.
I hope you are having an AWESOME driving and planning day!
smiles,
p.s. FYI – No, I didn’t get an email on this video post either.
I sent out an email about that this morning. Did you get that? I’m working on that issue! Just a theme kink, but as soon as I have some free time I am going to get it resolved.
Hey Lynn,
If it is the one titled “LynnTerry.tv Is Broken” I did get it. It just didn’t look like a normal email. LOL
Thanks for your reply and I know that it will all come out in the wash, as my mom used to say.
In the meantime I just check in from time to see what’s happening and where we are going next.
I hope you are having an AWESOME day!
smiles,
It’s hard to let go of children, no matter the age. Sounds like you have a solid plan and will deal with it well.
I hope so! Fortunately my son stays in touch with me. We were just talking on Skype a few minutes ago, even.
My daughter and I go visit him several times a year, and he comes home at least twice a year. Makes it a lot easier to bear!
No two-legged children here so empty nest syndrome is something I’ve never faced. Therefore, I feel it’s out of my realm to comment on that subject.
I am wondering about something though… who takes care of Slim when you travel? If it is your daughter, then who will look after him when she isn’t there? Just curious if you get a “sitter” or board him out or what. Oh wait, there may be an option I didn’t think of… does Slim take care of himself? He’s certainly big enough to reach the cabinets!
As for emails. I did not get notice on this one either. It seems like when I get emails about LynnTerry.tv there are usually 2-3 videos I haven’t seen/been notified about waiting for me. I only found this one because I guess I’m starting to get trained to check in without the email notices. Who says you can’t teach an old dog?… lol.
Slim goes to “doggy camp” when I travel.
It’s a great kennel out in the country run by a great couple. He gets nature walks, pig ears, ice creams, has his nails done, and he totally loves it! In fact he gets so excited when we pull up there that he jumps out and never even looks back.
I’m still working on the feed/email notification issue. I’m having to send them manually for now, until I get a chance to sit down and get that fixed. What a pain, hey?
How awesome that Slim loves doggy camp! You’re lucky. I’ve always had too many animals to even consider going anywhere. No one else is game to come here and eal with them all, and to farm them all out would take longer than the trip, and just be way too stressful, then I’d worry the whole trip anyway. It’s a good thing I’m a homebody at heart.
Thanks for the manual notices. I DID get the one “Single Mom Dating” promptly!
You’re welcome! I’m hoping to get some free time to devote to getting that email/feed thing worked out this week. It’s been nuts around here lately.
I don’t have kids so I cannot relate to the empty nest situation per se. Granted, I wish I did have kids because I might have a fuller life – e.g., grandkids. (Wait: am I old enough to be a grandmother? Holy crap. I am!)
I’m with you on living in Chattanooga. Your comment about the energy is spot on. If I could find a job there – and we could sell our money pit of a house – we would move in an instant. (Of course, if I would just set my mind to it, I can make that happen.)

I’m thinking very seriously about making it happen. I need to make it a point to go down for more weekend getaways. I used to do that a lot more. I just hate leaving Slim.
I have grandchildren already, and I’m only 39. It’s through my stepdaughters though – total of three babies now.
I’m excited about the idea of my own children having babies!!
That said, I’m also excited about this next phase of my life. I’ve been a single mother most of my adult life, and it hasn’t necessarily been easy. Having time for myself will be a HUGE change, but I’m hoping it will be a positive one…
