Welcome to my Pity Party. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes! :) lol…

I’ve been having a really tough time lately, and I’m bored out of my mind. So I filled up my schedule with all kinds of “fun” stuff to do. Alone. :P Join me as I head to my first private dance lesson, and ponder over life and love and being lonesome…

About Lynn Terry

I'm best known online for my Internet Marketing Blog and my Low Carb Diet blog (where I also talk about my fun travel adventures). But there is SO much more to me than work, food & travel. Which is why we're here. ;-) So let your hair down and let's have some REAL fun! *cheers*

You go Lynn! Doing things alone can be fun and very rewarding!

    • Lynn Terry July 26, 2012 at 10:05 am #

Yes, I’ve been doing it for many years now, lol. I’m trying to get out more and find some new and interesting things to get into though.

Dancing was fun, outside of being accosted in the parking lot on the way in! lol Then I met up with a friend after for dinner and to watch Karaoke for a bit, which was nice.

Today I may head back into the city to catch the last showing of the Katy Perry movie, then off to play Volleyball this evening at the local park…

Feeling very pensive lately, and making a serious effort to get myself out and put myself in some new environments and situations. The shock factor alone for this homebody should be good – haha. :D

    [tears streaming down my face]

What is something I can DO FOR YOU right now to support you? Name it. Anything (within reason).

I’ll send you an email with my phone number.

    Cindy :}

Thanks Cindy – I really appreciate that. I honestly can’t think of anything. This phase will pass, like they all do. Just recovering from some pretty hard hits, and realizing how insanely lonesome this town is when you DO want company. I fully intend to move in a couple years (tops) once my daughter is through with school and ready to start out on her own…

    Hey Lynn,

What a challenging video. You have been through a difficult time in your life and it is those times when we really need a friend. Someone just to listen and let us get it all out. Not to judge or try to fix everything but just to listen.

I hope you will accept us as that friend as we are here and listening.

It seems like you feel very alone and that is not such a good thing. I hope you can open the trust door just a bit knowing that we are here and you are not really alone.

Thank you for sharing. If you feel that you can share more then we are here to listen.

Shower time as I have a 2:30 p.m. pickup. “Hug” (if you need it)

I hope you are having an AWESOME dance class dancing day.:D

    smiles, :) :) :) :)

p.s. Do you really have a comedy club in your area? Cool!

    • Lynn Terry July 26, 2012 at 12:51 pm #

Nope. The comedy club is a 3 hour round trip. No big deal, I’ve always wanted to go – so I’m just going to have to… go.

I don’t have a trust issue, or any problem opening up. And I do feel very alone. That’s one of the reasons I started this video blog in the first place, and it *has* helped. But I miss having local friends, outside of and away from my work, and most of all… I miss having a best friend.

Thanks for joining me on my ride & for the kind words! :)

    Luv ya Lynn!

I can understand your frustration – to have had it all, but not have had it all.

Your a great person and inspiration to many, you’ll find your way…..xoxo

    This ones to you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RV-Z1YwaOiw

Glad to hear that the dance lesson was fun. Please do check out the comedy club and anything else you’ve been putting off for any reason.

Lynn you are one wonderful woman that deserves to find whatever it is that is going to make you happy. I give you tons of credit for all you have accomplished on your own and know that there is someone out there that would love to share your life, dance in your kitchen and just act goofy whenever the mood strikes… you are doing just what you need for you right now and by getting OUT of the kitchen (and office) you’ll meet new people and open yourself up to finding that person. It’ll happen when you least expect it so forget about it and just have FUN!

Wish I lived closer… the comedy club outing sounds like fun!

    • Lynn Terry July 27, 2012 at 10:43 am #

      I bet there’s an app for that… ;-)

I wish you lived closer too – would be great to have someone to go with! Meanwhile I’m just going to keep doing my thing, and getting out more. :)

My biggest goal at the moment is making local friends. I put a lot of intentional effort into creating good friendships with the people I really like all over the world – which has been great!! But I really do need some local company now and then.

As for dating, I guess being single all through my thirties, for more than 12 years now – and going on 40 – my biggest concern is that I’m missing out on enjoying the prime of my life with someone. I expect my 40′s will be great, but it would have been nice to have a real relationship in my youth – before things started aging. LOL. Ahh well – missed out on that one, like many other things. Life goes on! :P

    • Lynn Terry July 27, 2012 at 10:45 am #

And OMG, speaking of Apps (lol) I found one awhile back for dating. It was on the iPad and it was a geo-dating map. I installed it and was immediately freaked out! It literally showed me single men in my area and WHERE THEY WERE. Like “.4 miles from you right now” etc. LOL I have never uninstalled an iPad app so fast in my life, haha. Creepy!

Hugs lady. As always, let me know if I can help.

    • Lynn Terry July 27, 2012 at 10:38 am #

Thanks, Erica – I really appreciate your friendship. Hope to see you next week! :)

    Hi Lynn,

I’m really glad to hear you moving forward. I think it’s great that you never forget where you’ve come from(both the good and the bad)without allowing it to dominate your life outlook or plans. People that try to pretend they haven’t had bad times are the ones who are forced to relive them over and over again.

One foot in front of the other(or one left foot in this case-LOL)and you’ll get where you want to be and enjoy the journey as well.

Thoughts, hopes and prayers are with you.

    Jeff

That IS a creepy app! I don’t know about you but I am pretty discerning on which apps I allow to use my GPS!

  10. Satu July 28, 2012 at 1:25 pm #

I want to cry in my ice cream (have to go get some first)! No one can take THAT from me (they might try). ;-)

It’s an intersting thing that when you have a hard time you may actually do pretty well. The backlash comes later.

    • Lynn Terry July 28, 2012 at 11:30 pm #

I’ve always done well through the tough times. That’s when I’m at my best, or my strongest (emotionally). Probably from too much practice, lol. But I always have a recovery period afterward! :P

  11. Dee July 29, 2012 at 11:48 am #

Lynn, After watching so many of your videos, I feel that we’re soul sisters! I totally relate to this topic. I’ve never been married and have no children and have gone through periods of feeling very alone. In fact, I used to travel quite a bit alone and my last trip alone to Europe made me feel pretty miserable. I go through periods where I throw myself into activity, but then ultimately feel alone amongst strangers so then retreat until the inspiration comes back. I’m in retreat mode right now.

Good luck with your dancing and other activities. I look forward to hearing about your adventures and I’m sure they will inspire me to get “out there” again.

    Hugs!

    • Lynn Terry July 31, 2012 at 10:49 am #

I can really relate to that, Dee. I’ve done tons of traveling up until this year, and while being on the go and being “around people” when I get to my destination, is a good thing… I’m traveling alone, rooming alone, and basically *alone* lol. I totally get what you’re saying. I go through the same phases – go, retreat, go, retreat. Whatever’s best for me at any given time! ;-)
