Personally, I think they should just charge an entry fee at the door at WalMart. Online Shopping is much more fun!
Here’s what I got on Amazon.com last weekend…
- Book: What the Bleep Do We Know!?
- Book: Evolve Your Brain, The Science of Changing Your Mind
- Libbey Classic 16-Piece Glassware Set, Smoke
- Thomson Pottery 16-pc. White Quadro Set
And here is my post on ClickNewz I referenced: Creating Your Life vs Letting Life Create You

Hey Lynn,
WTS! (way to shop) I like all of your buys.
Those are awesome dishes and glassware. The flatware looks pretty nifty too. (made with <3. awwwww) Thanks for sharing.
I will check out the books as well although I am in the middle of "Six Pixels Of Separation" by Mitch Joel a very enjoyable book on doing business on the Internet. I will look to see if there are Kindle versions of the books that you bought.
Shopping online is neat. As I mentioned I bought my HP Netbook 2000 online from Staples (Canada) about 6 a.m. on Wednesday and it was delivered to my door on Thursday about 11 a.m. with FREE delivery. Nice!
The last thing I bought from Amazon was a book. I think by Gary Small. It was shipped from their warehouse in Ontario. (Canada) Since then my books have been Kindle downloads which of course are instant downloads.
I hope you are having an AWESOME day!
smiles
p.s. I am afraid I will pass on the Cover girl but thanks for sharing. LOL
LOL don’t blame you. It was a great recommendation though – I really like it! *cheers*
Hey Lynn,
Yep, both books are available at Amazon in Kindle format.
However, while reading the preview of “What The Bleep” I got wondering about the video. I found a full version on You tube so I think I will watch it before I decide on the book.
To night is pop corn night with the “What The Bleep” video.(2.5 hrs)
I hope that you are having an awesome day!
smiles
p.s. The nearest Walmart is about 30 minutes away but I do visit when I go that way. In factthat reminds me that I need to do some Walmart shopping. (mmmmm, I should check out their online store)
I dug into Evolve Your Brain today. TOTALLY HOOKED. Loving it so far!
Enjoy the film!
Hey Lynn,
Well I watched the film all the way through.(all 2.5 hrs) Very interesting.
Quantum physics is NOT something that I have had any experience with. It is amazing to consider the possibilities. (nano physics is equally amazing)
Of course I have done some reading on the plasticity of the brain and I very much believe that attitude will have an effect on what happens in your life. The way that the brain fires etc.
Everything may very well happen for a reason but I believe that time and circumstance befalls us all and so I try to LIVE,LOVE and LAUGH every day and be the best that I can possibly be.
I hope you are having an AWESOME day!
smiles
p.s. Happy to know that you are liking your other book. I will be checking it out next. : )
Let me know what you think when you dig in
Brain Food!!
Hey Lynn you make me envious
Because we live in Mexico most to the year I can’t get my online shopping fix other than getting my books on Kindle. I will definitely check out the books you got, that’s my kind of reading.
The reason I can’t buy non digital items online is because it is next to impossible to get anything sent to Mexico from an online store.
However, before every trip to the States I am a maniac online shopper. So much so that we have to let our credit card company’s know it is us shopping, not someone scamming us LoL
Suzy
LOL that’s funny – I would have crazy lists and shop like mad too. haha. It would probably be great for my budget not to have things shipped to the house so easily though.
I’m with Gary..I like your buys! You did GREAT! Especially those super cool plates.
OK, answers? Let’s see from Amazon … Crush It by Gary Vanderchuk, (waiting for delivery right now) and my new Canon Vixia (thank you Lynn for the referral). I’ve had that a few days and wishing I had a Macbook. The software doesn’t seem to be as user friendly for PCs as it is for Macs.
Still learning my way around it. My main frustration right now is the editing compared to Flip, Kodak zi8 and Kodak Water Sport. But after I get it figured out, I know I’ll love it – I already LOVE the image quality.
Walmart? I’m pretty good at sticking to my list. The last impulse buy was a few weeks back and a pretty big one at that. We’d been looking at TVs for awhile. Our living room TV was one of those big fat ones and really old. LOL We bought a new HD and we’re crazy about it! It’s a fairly new brand called HiSense – several hundred dollars cheaper than most of the competition and the image is absolutely awesome! I bought a 42″ and paid $400 for it. It’s a much better picture than most others that we’ve see so, if any one needs to upgrade their TV, you might check out this brand.
Have a great Friday everyone!
I haven’t tried hooking my Vixia up to my PC so I didn’t realize there would be any issues with that. What are you using to edit your videos?
Crush It! is an AWESOME book! You’ll love it.
The last thing I ordered online was a sweater set to wear at NAMS. I so needed something that wasn’t black or brown.
As for Walmart….every time I go I end up with something NOML (not on my list). We can never walk out under $100 – higher if we buy groceries, too.
No doubt. I say a minimum $100 entry fee – unless you’re going in the grocery side.
Can’t wait to see you at NAMS!!
Hi Lynn,
Great bunch of purchases all around.
Really like the plates, and love the blurb on the flatware. The books, too, are of interest to me.
How do you win all those contests, from this one to the big ones for computers?
The last purchase on Amazon, where I do a lot of shopping, was a new blade for my blender. I am going to return it, and get a different blade.
Like many, I do the bulk of my shopping over on Amazon.
Here are a few other recent purchases:
I bought a Timex Unisex T5K086 1440 Sports Resin Strap Watch, and I love this watch.
Also bought Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid Food Storage Set, in a set of 40, all BPA-free.
These were on sale for under $20, so I got two sets. I am replacing all plastic food containers with BPA-free ones.
Since I lived in NYC for over 30 years, going to Walmart was not much of an option. So far, I have been in only one Walmart, back when I was visiting friends in Minnesota.
I was tagging along with my friends at the time, and not really shopping for myself, so I can’t speak to buying something I don’t need, but I can understand how that happens.
There is a Walmart about half an hour from where I live now, but I have not been in it as of yet. Now that I’ve been warned, I’ll be on alert when I go there.
Most of my shopping is done online, too.
Online Shopping is just SO much easier!
I win the contests sometimes for top sales, and other times in random drawings from active affiliates. My house is full of random affiliate prizes – digital picture frame, portable DVD player, iPad, iPod, my television was even a win!
Being a Super Affiliate is cool.
Thanks for the link, and yes, it does appear to be super cool.
Congrats on all the fun, and useful prizes, too.
I do as much shopping online as possible, with the price of gas and living out in the country it is just easier. I love amazon and my last purchase was some mp3 music downloads. I think I always get more than I went in for at Walmart, last time I bought some clearance Christmas stuff for next year
I live in town, but it’s such a small town that there isn’t much here BUT walmart – lol. So I know what you mean. Plus I just love shopping at my leisure (3am even lol) and having everything delivered to the front door.
Hey Lynn, I forgot to mention something I did get at the Walmart here in Mexico for eyelashes that I love. It is by Mabelline and it is called XXLPro. It looks just like a mascara wand except it is white. You use it before your mascara and it adds lots of volume to skimpy lashes.
Shopping at a Walmart in Mexico you are most often surprised about what you think you bought versus what you discover you bought once you get home. In this case it was a good surprise even though I thought I bought mascara
Have a great weekend,
Suzy
That sounds like another product I need to try out for my poor little lashes – lol. Thanks!
You’re welcome!
I LOVE that mascara
Last thing I bought – Loss and Bereavement (textbook) lol
WalMart is evil… even though I’ve read research on product placement, layout, blah, blah and the specific marketing efforts behind it to get people to buy, I always end up with something that I didn’t plan on buying.
I recently went to get some basic stuff and bought 3 t-shirts just because they were on sale. Needless to say, they’re transparent and totally useless outside the house
LOL I’ve done that too – the t-shirts
Reply to Lynn question about Vixia and PC – I’m used to just popping my videos up on Cantasia and running with it. I had been forewarned by Amazon reviews about Vixia not being quite so PC friendly. It’s just that the Vixia format doesn’t work with Camtasia or Windows Movie Maker, so far as I can tell. Plus you have to load it into your PC through their special software, then use another program (I use Wondershare) to convert it to a format which Camtasia accepts. It’s just a lot more steps than with my Flips, Kodak zi8 or Kodak Play Sport. I’m really loving the Vixia though and hopefully lafter I’ve gotten used to the different process, that it will be smoother for me and I can cut my edit time down. I have to say though that from what you say and from the reviews I read before purchase, evidently Canon does work smoother on Macs. So…I’ve been doing some browsing but they are pricey. I’m not sure how beefy of a system I’d need but I am leaning in that direction eventually I think.
Since I’d use it just for my video work I may end up buying a used system, although I’ve never done that before – pretty scary thought! Course, I’ll need you to give me a lesson on using a Mac though since I’ve always been a PC gal! LOL I have Linux (plus Windows) on my spare desktop but for the life of me I can’t get the hang of Linux. Oh well . . . all in due time I guess.
Ahh – that’s a lot more trouble than with the Mac. I just plug it in via USB and it loads right into iMovie – a breeze.
I got the base model 13″ Macbook Pro. Not a lot of memory or hard drive, but I don’t need it. I don’t use it for much besides video editing & browsing. And I store all my video on an external hard drive after I’m done with it.
Love the plates
I have plain white ones too, though I prefer porcelain to stoneware. Just simple ones from Next though, I love eating from them.
The last thing I bought online was Richard Branson’s biography for my Kindle. The last PHYSICAL thing I bought was the Kensington Lapstop Stand – I buy a new one every year because the spring goes eventually, but they’re cheap and perfect for what I need so I don’t mind replacing them.
For mascara – my lashes have got thinner and I’ve found Maybelline One-by-One THE most awesome mascara ever for top and bottom lashes.
No Walmart here I’m afraid, but really glad to see you’re taking a look at “Conscious LIving” (or Deliberate/Conscious Creation) – it totally changed my life 10 years ago
Just about to buy Rosalind Gardiner’s Handbook (again – can’t find my original receipt) following your tip – thanks!
It’s SUCH a great guide!
I am loving the dishes. Love the weight, the size, and the depth. They’re perfect!!
Hi Lynn! I love your buys too, I’m in the market for a few household items and dishware/silverware are on the list. Been needing to “upgrade” from the dishes my aunt handed down to me almost 3 yrs ago. They’re nice but I need my own
Last thing I got from Amazon were red hot 8lb dumbbells and a Jillian Michaels DVD. I’m gonna stop by Walmart tomorrow, so I’ll let you know what my entry fee is lol
Did you like the Jillian Michaels DVD?
Hi Lynn,
I am an avid Amazon shopper and make my neighbors jealous because as they say I am always getting presents delivered to my front door on a daily basis. I figure why go to the store when I can get it online cheaper and save the fuel by not going to the store. Of course there is food which needs refrigerated sooner than later that I do make the trip the grocery store for and the items that I need in a pinch.
Another thing I like about online shopping is reading people reviews of the products.
Anyhow, my last purchase on Amazon was a HM Digital TDS-EZ Meter/Tester to see how bad my water is.
Take care,
Les
How bad was it??
My neighbors must wonder… lol.
My water tested at 145 ppm which means my water is HARD which I really did not need it to tell me that. The good thing is at 145 ppm it does not fall into the “very hard” water quality. I will be spending some money one a whole house filter and conditioning system soon. Recently I purchases a shower filter and boy did it make a difference on my skin.
Very cool. I have no idea what my water is, and I think it’s best if I choose to remain ignorant to avoid getting the bug to make changes – lol.
Seriously, glad you found a way to get a better shower!
I mostly order Kindle books from Amazon. Last one must’ve been Succeed by Heidi Grant Halvorson.
I’ve never been to WalMart, but they are one thing to check when I come over.
I’ve understood WalMarts are HUGE.
BTW, have you read Jonathan Fields’ Annual Report 2011? I think you would love it!
I love the squarish plates too.
I haven’t read it – do you have a link?
Yes, WalMart is HUGE lol. It’s like 2 miles between the mascara and the milk.
I just ordered recently from Amazon! I won’t order from any website unless I get FREE shipping.
On Amazon I ordered a 2012 wall calendar and coconut oil to cook with.
I also found an awesome site called Soap.com and ordered my favorite Caldrea products and FREE shipping!!
Last time I went to Wal-mart I spotted a Blender Bottle. I had to have it!! It has a blender ball inside and will mix anything. I use it to mix my protein shakes. Love it!
Amazon does rock. Do you use Amazon Prime? That was a great investment, I think I’ve had it over a year now.
Hey Lynn,
You asked…. I had a chance to check out the book “Evolve Your Brain”.
I skimmed over the parts available at Amazon and found it interesting so I bought the Kindle version and dug into it.
I am not a big fan of Yoga or hypnotherapy but I do understand neuroplasticity and
oops….
Sorry, I must have hit a wrong thingy. LOL
(I do understand neuroplasticity and) how the brain can rewire itself. Like the author I have and continue to use this in my recovery.
Thanks for the heads up on the book.
I hope you are having an AWESOME day!
smiles
Glad you’re enjoying it! I’m still reading it myself. I haven’t had a lot of extra time this week, so it’s a chapter here and there, but it is BLOWING MY MIND
Loving it!!
I just ordered Ethan’s birthday presents online… the first one came today actually. Shopping online is the best!
I agree – I especially like shopping on my own time, in my PJs, any hour any day, and getting GREAT deals.
Happy Birthday to Ethan!!
The last few things I ordered on Amazon were books and DVD’s. I got Peas and Thank You meatless recipe book, Forks Over Knives: The Plant Based Way to Health, the movie Rio and then two Harry Potter DVD’s for hubby.
I have also purchased movies from itunes for my iPad.
As for Walmart, I always leave with way more than I went in for. I would venture to guess that we came out with a ton of baby stuff for our new granddaughter on our last trip but we have been shopping Target more lately.
We recently bought new plates too. Clear square ones that we love (Food Network plates form Kohls).
Cool! I am loving my new square’ish plates
