Hi Debra, nice to see you!
Are you talking about knickers over there?
Hi Satu,
You should know we were plotting to hit England for a trip and I told Lynn I thought you may be able to come join us there. I wonder how many people there are who would do a LTE Meetup in or around London?
LOL I would misspell it.
Knickers – got it!
I look forward to that trip, Debra. My daughter will be thrilled, as she’s always wanted to go. We’ll have to keep working on that plan.
That was fun, and nice to meet Debra here online, as well as being introduced to her Web site.
Love the cultural differences found all around the world.
It is interesting to hear both of you talk about your worlds, getting new perspectives.
As for knickers, you might find this interesting:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knickerbockers_(clothing)
Lynn, since you will soon be in NYC, you might like to know that one of the sports teams there is called the NY Knicks, which is short for NY Knickerbockers.
(You’ll learn all kinds of new idioms, etc. visiting NYC.)
For now, I reckon you are having a fine time at Ameriker’s Virginier Beach, riding around in your UTE, wearing your sweatah, while maybe having some pizzer for lunch.
Try to not get too stuffed, or pissed on your trip home. LOL
LOL hilarious! And interesting to know about the NY Knicks!!
Lynn,
I am SO glad you made the trip to come see Sugarland with me! It was a great show and we actually did get some great business brainstorming done too, which is amazing as anyone can see from the video here, we can both talk!
FYI for anyone else looking at this – Lynn took the time to review a new site I’m working on and gave me some fantastic tips and insight on how to improve that and be sure I was getting those CTA’s in there. The lesson here is another perspective is always helpful as we get so close to our own projects we often can’t see the wood for the trees. So Lynn’s input there was invaluable and much appreciated.
But most of all I was grateful Lynn came all the way from TN to VA to go to a concert and hang out with moi! We learned lots more about each other and our businesses, but most of all we had fun doing it, so for me at least, I have to say not one second felt like work at all and who can beat that?
Thanks again Lynn for making the trek to VA. Next time I’ll come to TN and bake you some proper English Scones – NOT those dried up old ‘bellywedgers’ they sell everywhere else and who knows maybe we can even make another episode of Two Tarts Talking!
Thank you again for the invite – it was such a great time! And a welcome break from the home office. I totally enjoyed it.
The only thing we missed was getting a photo together. How crazy is that?! I can’t believe I didn’t think of it.
Until next time…
Nice hearing you too ‘gabbing’ on (as we Brits say) and I love playing with language and all that malarky lol
Great you got to hang out together and that @Debra, @Lynn helped you identify ‘those C’TA’s’ (whatever they may be haha).
Also loving the adventure your vlog is taking you on Lynn.
Fun and games for sure!!!
CTA = Call To Action
Great fun!!
So great to see both of you. I think Jennifer Nettles has a fantastic voice. VA Beach was my favorite get away spot when I lived in DC a few years back. Thanks for sharing!
She has such a *strong* voice – and gives such a great performance! This was my first trip to VA Beach since I was in my early 20′s, maybe just 21 or 22 even.
Hey Lynn, (and Debra)
Awesome video! thanks for sharing.
Accents and dialects are always interesting. Debra mentioned the bonnet of the car and it made me think of the windscreen, the boot and putting in some petrol. (I have some English friends) LOL Did you ever get a ladder in your stocking? That could but your knickers in a twist. LOL
Did Tawyna tell you that we (Canada) are officially stopping production of the penny. Everyone is being encouraged to roll up our pennies. take them to the bank or donate them to charity. Soon we will only have a virtual Canadian penny. (imagine that) It will be nickles in the fountain then.
Newfoundlanders do the same thing with h’s they drop them and add them where there was none in the first place. Happy becomes appy and Ann becomes hAnn. Interesting…
I always thought that “redneck” was a derogatory term or an insult like “neuf” but as I understand it, it is just the description of a group of people. Is that right? (resourceful types that can make something out of nothing) The dictionary says: “A poor White person in the southern United States”
I hope you are having an AWESOME smooth trip back day!
Smiles,
The dictionary is pretty much correct. Except they left out the boot wearing, truck driving, tobacco chewing, country music loving, “six pack of beer and cable tv is a date” kinda stuff.
ROTFLMAO
Err – excuse me! I am from Essex!
Absolutely wonderful to see you both hanging out.
I found this list of British -> American terms. Enjoy.

Ahh fun! I’m off to check them out
