Do You Feel Obligated To Reciprocate?

Do you feel obligated to reciprocate when someone does something for you? I’m curious to hear *your* thoughts on this topic, as well as your personal experiences!

I so agree Lynn! I use my Twitter feed as a source of items that are of interest to me! I follow those people and brands that hold that interest and do not follow items or tweets that would just clutter up results. I just don’t have time for weeding through the superfluous to find the items I really want to see.

However that said we all guilt ourselves to some degree…

I used to, but anymore I am almost “heartless” when it comes to creating my life and my interactions to be exactly what I want – no more and no less. It’s a work in progress, and not one I want compromised. ;-)

That seems selfish, especially to those that subscribe to the reciprocation model (on any level/topic). But we all have a right to be picky about how we spend our time, and what we let have our attention.

    Hey Lynn
great you voiced about this topic. this is huge -especially with social media.
    I also don’t follow anyone i don’t want to.
i don’t do the ‘you follow me , i follow you’ herd mentality.
i am very picky on who i follow, b/c like you, it’s what i want to read on twitter.
people also have to keep in mind, it’s your reputation on who you follow. that is how i view it.
overall, i never feel obligated to do anything.
obligation is something you put on yourself, like guilt. only you can do it to yourself, no one does it to you.
