Lynn,
Quite a story.
You are a woman of adventure.

PS Love the Message on your Tee Shirt
Thank you – it’s a new one from the recent order I unboxed a few videos ago.
I’m wearing it A LOT this week, LOL.
Hey Lynn,
You really are a great story teller and it is awesome to see you smiling again.
I hope you are having an AWESOME story telling day!
smiles
Thank you Gary!
That was some great story! You should write a short story.
I’m almost jealous of you – you were so young and adventurous at your twenties – I was just an anxious boring nerd. It’s sad what happned to Carla, but I think that she’d probably ended up in that ward anyway – sounds like she was very depressed.
When I start dreaming about leaving everything behind I know I’m really stressed out.
Yeah… she was there for me when *I* needed her most. I guess that’s what gets to me about it…
Book is in the works.
That’s kind of a “Wow” story. I think most of us have some regrets about things we did and people we left hanging when we were young. I’m sure you’ve thought about what would have happened if you’d gone. You won’t ever know that for sure, but who knows, maybe letting your friend down, saved both of you from a worse “fate”.
That’s a great way to look at it, lol – it WAS a crazy idea. :p
It’s nice that you are at a place in your life where you can look back, reflect and share the story.
A lot of people are never that comfortable in their skin.
That’s too bad… Really, it is. I love my stories.
Do you know where Carla is now?
I think she is still in the same area – the last I heard…
That was a great story! (Stories – your recovery, the trip, and meeting your husband.)
I’m with Val, I think you (or maybe her sons) were spared from another fate. Imagine going on the trip and discovering she really did want to abandon her boys and never go back… you’d feel like an accomplice to a horrible crime.
(And all you can ever do anyway is follow your heart and intuition in the moment, and clearly you had a very strong pull to stay.)
Life is funny that way, isn’t it?
I wouldn’t for a second go back to being in my 20′s, or being “young and naive” LOL…
