    Hey Lynn,

Congrats! Wow, I’m very impressed… You started eight years ago and you have maintained your blog through those entire eight years. Were you an early adopter? I don’t recall blogs being around much before that.

I don’t remember when I created my first blog but I think it might have been during “The 30 Day Challenge” in July of 06. I didn’t connect for the 05 Challenge and only started in 06, Ruth from Ontario, Barbie from Vancouver Island and I were on the same team that year. “Team Canada” We actually continued to meet every week for about a year after the Challenge was over.

Now I have quite a few blogs that are in various states of being posted to.

The blogs were the main reason that I joined the writers group. I needed all the help that I could get with my writing. Even now with Karon’s copy writing course my writing style is changing again. Now I am getting guest blogging requests for others to guest blog on my blogs and for me to guest blog on others blogs as well.

One of my blog posts is being carried by another blog tomorrow and I am in the middle of writing a guest post for second blog.

I must find my way in to your free group that you mentioned as I do have a question about the number of words that a blog post can reasonably contain.

I hope you and Slim are having an AWESOME napping day!

    smiles, :) :) :) :) :)

p.s. I have to find a way to cut down on the number of words that I use to say something. LOL! :P

      Hey Lynn,

Just looked at the list of resources that you posted. WOW! Thanks! :D

You really ARE a TWEETHEART and I bet that you TWITTER too… LOL! :D

      smiles, :)

p.s. I am signed on for your webinar on Tuesday. It fits neatly in between my doctors appointment, lunch and my Artisans On Main steering committee meeting. It sounds like it will be a great webinar. Thanks!!!

The webinar on Tuesday should be fun. Glad you’re coming!

To answer your question, content should always be as long or as short as it takes to make the point. Period. :D

Posts that span upwards of 1000+ words might be broken up into a series, or used as a short report instead.

I suppose you might consider me an early adopter with blogging, though blogs were certainly around for quite some time prior to that. They just weren’t “mainstream” like they became in 2004 and with the release and popularity of Blogger and WordPress…

Good point about the history of blogging…. :)

Thanks for your feedback on the word count thingy. I will finish the post today. It’s going to top out around 1000 to 1200 words.

I think I CAN break it up into three or four posts….. a series, and retool it as an article. I will know more after I finish the initial writing and start tearing it apart. Again thanks! :D

I did sign up for your free forum but I think I should lurk and learn before making a post. Time will tell.

I hope you are having an AWESOME blogging and posting day!

          smiles, :) :) :)

p.s. “stinklook”… What an awesome word. It may be a Dane thingy. LOL! :P

Sorry… that should have been “stinkeye”! LOL Even better!!!

Congrats, Lynn! Eight years is a long time. I sometimes wonder if we still blog when we are in our 80′s… :-)

A question: How long does it take for you to write a blog post compared with when you got started?

I’m putting up a content strategy for BC. I really need to get become more systematic about creating content for my main “property”.

    • Lynn Terry August 25, 2012 at 9:20 pm #

      I wonder that too, lol…

It really depends. It takes me anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours or more… it depends on my mood, inspiration, the depth of the topic, etc.
