Workout

Angie and I get a workout in the hotel gym. We’re challenging ourselves to workout EVERY day this month.

I’m a wimp :P haha

I really prefer my Zumba DVD workout, or a nice 2-mile walk with my Great Dane ;-)

Just tuned in to your video blog, and I’d like to encourage to keep going…through the initial pain. A healthy body is 10% training, 10% genes, and 80% nutrition.

Could I recommend a great book on this for you? It’s The eat-clean diet by Tosca Reno. It shows you how to rev up your metabolism and burn fat faster while eating the foods you love and never going hungry.

Welcome :D And thank you for the recommendation. I’ll check it out. I eat low carb and have lost my weight that way… and am working out now for toning and for health. Thanks too for the encouragement! ;-)

    Hey Lynn,

I guess an early morning with an over sized piece of gym equipment just don’t have the same warmth as a fresh cup of coffee and and a greeting from Slim.:P

What is the deal with working out every morning in February anyway. Are you trying to add tone or subtract weight? Do you really NEED to do either?

I am not a gym type. I prefer doing my walk at least two or three times a week. A half hour with my relaxation/visualization CD when I need it, fifteen minutes with my 2 lb weights to strengthen arms and fifteen minutes on the stationary bike to strengthen legs.

I do exercise to keep my body moving and increase the range of motion strength and control in my arms and legs. (especially my Left side) I also like to de-stress through relaxation and visualization exercise. :)

I hope you are having an AWESOME day with your BIG gym buddy! (not)

    smiles :)

p.s. Having a quiet day inside catching up on some reading today as we had an ice storm overnight. (loving the book “Evolve Your Brain” – thanks) :D

      Hey Gary,

      Glad you’re enjoying the book!

My goal this month is to “create the habit”. I don’t have a results based goal, but rather want to get in the habit of exercising daily – even if it’s a brisk 15 minute walk, or a full hour of Zumba.

I prefer my Zumba DVD’s, and my walks with Slim, to the gym. But when traveling the options are more limited – and it was fun to workout with a friend for a change!

My ultimate goal is better health and more strength. And not to be called spaghetti arms by Satu. :P LOL

LOL Those are spaghetti arms, Lynn!

I can see that Angie works out a lot, she definitely has a go-getter attitude. Way to go, Angie! ;-) I also took a brisk 75 minute walk today (23 F and light drizzle in Helsinki).

You’ve been so quiet (no facebook updates etc) that I suspect you have had rather a too good a time there….

It was really busy. Lots of people to catch up with over the weekend. :D A great time! Angie totally kicks my butt at ANY workout LOL.

(I think she actually enjoys it! haha)

    Hi Lynn,

There was a time when I was into some weight training, and so went to the gym every day. I used to love it, and always felt better, but I didn’t go in the mornings.

For certain exercises, I prefer afternoons, or evenings.

Maybe that is the case for you, too. Your body will let you know. ;-)

Kudos to you, and to Angie, for getting out there at any time.

    Same to Gary, too. :-)

My preference these days is walking, and using my bike trainer.

My free weights over in the corner here are silently mocking me, because I should be using them more often. :-P

Other options I sometimes enjoy are yoga, t’ai chi, and qi gong.

Mornings are NOT my favorite time at all lol – I guess that was obvious. :P But with full days at a conference, it was the only time to fit it in… without having to shower all over again. haha

That was a good workout! Fun time with the video too. It is a struggle for me to workout while traveling so I had a successful time this past week.

Usually we would do things like walk on the beach, snorkel, etc. We have a gym at home so mixing it up with walking the stairs and doing some strength training and ab moves in the hotel lobby was a nice change.

    Laughing at Willie lol

Y’all where great, even after sitting at the restaurant for hours. You would do something. Angie you go girl, walk those stairs. I think you started a trend with all the ladies, I kept hearing a lot I’m hitting the stairs. All except for one who was scared to walk them herself. Even Nichole Dean walked them.
Had to make it fun in some way and get involved. I ran a mile one evening, and contributed a little left over sweat to our friend Angie because that evening she had a little motivation problem and gave her a hug.

LOL that was nice of you, Adam – haha. It really was great to see so many people getting their fitness on, even while we were away for the weekend together. Super cool!

      Angie is seriously motivating! ;-)
